Pregnancy brain?

Yesterday, I headed down to Charlottesville for my midwife appointment. Since it's finals week here at Woodberry, Jason has a different schedule, so he was able to go with me. This is GREAT because Sierra is a bit difficult to wrangle when I'm trying to talk to my midwife. One problem: we got there and they couldn't find my chart!

...

Because it was filed with today's appointments. Yep, that's right, we drove all the way to Charlottesville yesterday for my appointment which was today. AAAAUUUGGGH!

Today at lunch (before heading back to Charlottesville), Jason said he though that "pregnancy brain" was just a bad excuse for my scatterbrainedness (is that a word?). My friend Jaime was sitting next to us and said something to the effect of "Hang on, there. You are not allowed to say that until you are pregnant, and since that will never happen, you need to shut your mouth." Thank you, Jaime. Thank you. Yes, I already felt like a total goof for going to my appointment a day early, I didn't need Jason to rub it in.

Anyway, the appointment was fine. I'm measuring normally, blood pressure was 108/52, #2's heart rate was in the 140s. The heart rate interests me. I feel like Sierra's heartrate at this stage was more in the 160s. I wish I could remember for sure because I've heard that boys have lower heartrates than girls. I don't know if this is an old wives' tale, or if it's backed up by any data, but it still makes me wonder ...
