Signs of spring

This morning, when I headed for a run about 9:00, it was still cold and really windy. The wind is what gets you! It can appear lovely and sunny, but with that cold wind blowing, spring sure seems a long way off.

By this afternoon, though, the sun was shining brightly, the temperature had risen to around 50 degrees F, and we headed outside to enjoy. As I was chasing Sierra around the yard, I noticed these lovelies peaking up through the grass:
