The Woodberry Forset Annual Spring Barbeque is an event where teams of Woodberry boys barbeque dinner for the community in a variety of different styles. The teams are divided in to regional and national styles of cooking (e.g. Texas, Louisiana, Korea, North Carolina, etc.) and there is a judging component of the evening.
It's an all day (and much of the previous night) event. Some of the teams put their meet on the smoker very, very early in the morning. All sauces and rubs have to made from scratched, not purchased. By late afternoon, everyone is finishing up and the Woodberry community is invited for dinner.
Sierra was thrilled to meet her friends at the barbeque. We weren't completely sure which small child owned this little car, but these preschoolers had fun with it.
Kaia is experience what it's like to have hair, vicariously through Sophia.
The boys scramble to finish up and get everything ready to serve before the judging begins.
The judging panel ...
Kaia was a big fan of the corn bread.
Dinner's over, and my girls head back to the car with Tommy and Peyton.
Sophia get some lovin' from Kaia.
Jason was the faculty advisor for the Louisiana barbeque team. Here he is with the senior members of the team.
And the whole team. They didn't win, but I thought their food was delicious! Mmmm ...
